My name is Shikease Jackson. I am also known as Shaq. I am currently a Junior here at West Florence High School here in Florence, SC. I have been playing football since I was 6 years old starting with flag football and has never missed a season since then. Football is all I know and love..I love the competitive nature of the sport and hopefully one day it will give me the oppurtunity to play at the college and the NFL level. Right now, I bench press 340lbs, squat 515lbs and do 25 reps of 185lbs. My position is currently NG/DE. I was originally a linebacker up until my 10th grade year then I was switched to play on the DL. This is because I'm a team player and my coach had no one else who can hold the position down like I did. Also that following year of my Sophmore year I was named in the Top Ten Pee Dee Grand Strand Player To Watch. I know that I am an undersized DL and the odds will be harder to be recruited because of my size. I am listed at 5'11 230lbs but, I dont let my size bother me because I am a football player and I will do whatever it takes to help my team win. My video highlights will speak for itself. I have a nose for the football and a quick burst out of my stance that give opposing offenses problems. My video on here will show only a few of the plays that I have made because its limited. My dream is to one day play in the NFL and I know I got to continue to work hard and continue to grind because I know nothing will be given to me. I've got to earn it. My football team just came off a school record of 10 wins this past season. We won the Region Championship back to back and finished the regular season 9-2 and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs to the currently Lower State Champions Northwestern High School 41-28. They had in the paper that this game wasn't going to be close because, Northwestern is one of South Carolinas Perennial AAAA powerhouses. Our defense kept it close mostly the whole way until the last few minutes of the game. Their QB has committed to LSU. I also broked my hand and had to miss 3 games earlier in the season. The doctors told me my season was over after surgery. 3 weeks later I was back..and I came back against our crosstown rivals South Florence High School. That game was a career game for me. I had 12 tackles along with 1 sack and some assisst. I was so hungry to get back on the field and I played with one hand because I had a club on. Also I am working very hard to be an Student-Athlete now. So I am hitting the books as hard as possible to get my GPA right for the Colleges I want to qualify for. My Academics comes first because without football I have nothing but Academic. I don't have no offers yet but I am not going to let that bother me because I am motivated to become a great football player and will make some teams regret passing up on me either in college or the pro level. I know somebody out there will give me a chance to play at the next level and whomever that may be, I promise they wont be dissappointed. So all I can do is continue to work hard put GOD first and everything else will fall into place. GOD BLESS!!
