9-16-12 update: I have committed to and been accepted into Stanford. Go Cardinal!
Also named to 2012 All Area Code Team, RNWS All Star Team, CBCA North roster for California North South game, and just made the final 40 player roster for the NTIS/USA Baseball 2013 18U team (currently the 17U team).

6-16-12 update: Chris started the first game for the North in the 2012 CBCA North-South game went 3 innings and gave up two runs, North went on to win the game 5-3 and the series 2-1-1.

6-12-12 update: Chris was at the Rawlings NorCal World Series/RNWS this weekend at UOP and was named to the All Tournament team. He will also be playing for the North team in the 2012 California North South tournament July 16-17 at San Diego State.

6-5-11 update: Chris will be at the Area Code tryout July 5 in Stockton, CA.

4-25-12 update: 11 appearances, 44.1 IP, 48K's, 16 walks, 1.53 ERA, 28 hits, 10 earned runs, record is 4-3 with two saves. He has still allowed only 4 extra base hits in high school varsity play over two years while facing approx. 300 batters.

Chris finished the 2011 Soquel High varsity baseball season with a 2-1 record with two saves, and led the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League and Santa Cruz County in ERA at 0.85. He recorded 25 Ks and 7 walks in 24 2/3 innings and allowed 19 hits. He faced 110 batters and only allowed one extra base hit, a double.

As of Dec. 2011 his fastball max is 85 mph and he cruises at 82-84 mph 4 seam, 81-82 two seam. He has a plus change-up that tails inside and drops and also a a two seam that tails sharply. He is close to commanding his curve ball as well.

Chris' off-season pitching coach is Mark Eichhorn, an ex Toronto Blue Jays pitcher with two World Series rings.

In basketball he played in two regular season basketball games as a freshman and just completed his sophomore varsity season. He will focus on baseball for college.

11-6-11 update: Chris pitched to 4 batters at the Trosky Last Chance showcase in Salinas (Monterey), allowing one infield single while getting two pop-outs and one swing through K.

10-29-11 update: Chris pitched to 17 batters at the Santa Clara Prospect Camp and recorded 15 outs, 8 K's, 2 walks, no hits and no runs in extended play innings.

10-22-11 Trosky baseball update: Chris pitched in two games for the 16U team in Oct. allowing no hits and no runs over 7 innings. Chris' ERA for all Trosky 16U and 18U appearances this summer over almost 35 innings is approx. 0.40.

9-27-11 update: At the Trosky Baseball showcase in Union City, CA on Sept. 24-25 Chris faced 18 batters, struck out 9, allowed 3 hits, walked one, and gave up just one unearned run in extended play innings Cruised at 82-84 per his eval sheet. Chris was 15 years old at this camp and turned 16 on Sept. 28.

8-20-11 update: Chris attended the Stanford Future Stars Baseball Camp and threw 5 innings, allowing three singles and one earned run.

8-02-11 update: Chris has pitched 17 innings for the Trosky 18U Blue Senior Elite team and allowed just one earned run for a to-date Trosky summer ERA total of 0.41. After having an emergency appendectomy 6-29-11, he returned to throw a complete 7 inning game 8-1-11 vs. the San Diego Hustle 18U Team in the USABF World Series in San Diego, allowing 5 hits, two walks, and one unearned run. The Hustle went on to finish 2nd in the USABF 18U World Series this year, losing to Taylor Baseball on 8-6-11. Chris also pitched 4 innings Sat. July 23 vs. the Blaze Red team in Fresno and allowed just one earned run. Blaze Red was one of the top 18U teams in CA and we heard consisted of almost all high school graduates/college players.
