In his sophomore year Gore played only Varsity and pitched, played Center field, and started 22 games at the First Base Position. A very solid defensive player. Gore had several crucial plays in the State 4A Area tournament and in the State 4A Playoffs. Gore made a diving catch on a rocket line drive at first base to end the Area game and send his team to the playoffs. In the first round of play-off action Gore made a game changing line drive diving double play to end an inning and leave a runner stranded on third. Also, in a post season USSSA tournament Gore made an outstanding 3-3-6 Triple play. Gore has a respectable bat, and is a capable hitter who is able to bunt and drag bunt effectively. However, at this point his glove is his stellar attribute. Has a tendency to make difficult plays look routine. His fielding percentage of .998 was a team best, to go along with a .318 batting average. Was voted Defensive MVP by his teammates post-season. Gore is an outstanding, hard working player , with a natural flow and a sound knowledge of the game. He is the kind of kid any coach would love to have.
