General Soccer InformationCoaching Tom Foley- Coached by Tom Foley at Billerica High School for 2 years. He is currently the Associate Head Coachfor Soccer at NCAA Division 1 James Madison University. Bio- A 1991 graduate of Connecticut, Foley participated in three NCAA tournaments (1987-89). He was the starting goalkeeper on the Huskies' 1989 Big East tournament champion team and the tournament's most valuable player. Foley was voted the Big East Freshman of the Year in 1987 and named All-New England four times. As a senior he was a Soccer America All-America and played in the 1991 Senior Bowl. He played on the U.S Youth National Team in the Youth World Cup in Beijing, China, and in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Trinidad & Tobago. Career Playing Honors Include: Big East Freshman of the Year (1987), All-New England (1987, 88, 89, 90), Soccer America All-America (1990), NCAA Tournament (1987, 88, 89), Big East Champion (1989), Big East Tournament MVP (1989), U.S Youth National Team Bernie Watt- Trained by Bernie Watt. He is the owner of Soccer Watt and Goalkeeper Trainer of New England Revolution’s Matt Reis as well as San Jose Earthquake’s goalkeeper John Busch. Bio- A graduate of Springfield Bernie played professionally and is one of the premier keeper coaches in the nation. A former director of Soccer Plus Bernie has coached collegiately at Union, St.Rose’s, RPI and Albany State. Based close to Albany, New York Bernie’s SoccerWatt Goalkeeper School has thrived. Bernie has been heavily involved with the Blackwatch Soccer Club of the “Y†League. In the past he has been Head Goalkeeper Coach of Eastern New York ODP. Mike Haynes- Coached at V.F.C. Blast by Mike Haynes for U-17 season and for upcoming U-18 season in the spring. Bio- Mike Haynes is the boy’s varsity soccer coach at Matignon High School in Cambridge. Prior Matignon, Haynes played professionally in Barbados and spent two years as an Assistant at Emerson College before taking over as head coach at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. From 1997 to 2005 Mike led Beaver CDS to four NEPSAC Championships and six league Championships, including two undefeated seasons. Mike has also coached in the ODP for six years and has coached extensively on the club scene. Two of Mike’s club teams have won USYSA State Cup Championships and one was a Region 1 Semifinalist. Mike has had two players named to National Squads, one All-American Player, and numerous All-New England and All-State Players.
