Giants place LB Wilkinson on IR (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

The New York Giants have placed backup linebacker Gerris Wilkinson on injured reserve with a wrist injury. The Giants announced the move Wednesday and signed cornerback D.J. Johnson off the Denver Broncos practice squad to fill out the roster. Wilkinson was hurt in Sunday's 21-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
