Kings extend contract of exec Petrie (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Geoff Petrie has agreed to a contact extension to remain president of basketball operations for the Sacramento Kings. The team has called a news conference for Tuesday to announce the deal. Petrie is in the final year of his current contract. Petrie joined the Kings in 1994 and built a perennial playoff contender.
