Ex-closer Wetteland taken to hospital (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

A Seattle Mariners spokesman says former All-Star closer John Wetteland was taken to a Dallas-area hospital after authorities responded to a 911 call from his home. Wetteland is the Mariners' bullpen coach. Team spokesman Jeff Evans says the club is still gathering details and is not ready to comment on why Wetteland was taken to a hospital.
