Giants sign 2B Sanchez to 2-year deal (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Freddy Sanchez has signed a two-year contract extension with the San Francisco Giants. Terms of the deal were not announced Friday but the Giants held an $8.1 million option for 2010 for the three-time All-Star second baseman. Sanchez was acquired from Pittsburgh on July 29 in exchange for a minor league pitcher.
