Mater Dei ace waiting for draft (rivals.com)
The Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) Monarchs have a pitching staff the high school equivalent of a Yankees rotation that George Steinbrenner spent $90 million to assemble. The first place Monarchs, coming off of winning the National Classic by defeating No. 2 El Toro, are equipped with five pitchers who are all capable of hitting the low 90s. The leader of this squad is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound bruiser of a right-hander that poses as big of a threat at the plate as he does on the mound.
