Texas regents approve Muschamp contract (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

University of Texas System regents on Wednesday unanimously approved the new contract for Longhorn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, who is in line to take over for head coach Mack Brown when he decides to retire. The deal pays Muschamp $900,000 a year as defensive coordinator and at least $2 million a year as head coach if he takes over the Texas program as soon as 2010.
