Iowa State hires Herman to run offense (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

New Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads hired Rice assistant Tom Herman as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Herman was offensive coordinator at Rice for the last two seasons. Using a spread offense, the Owls ranked 10th in yards per game. Rice won 10 games, including its first bowl victory since 1954.
