Gators hire Edwards as def. coordinator (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Florida has hired Miami Dolphins assistant coach George Edwards as its defensive coordinator. Gators coach Urban Meyer also promoted Chuck Heater to co-defensive coordinator. Heater will continue to work with safeties. Edwards will coach inside linebackers.
