Takahara-Dias is new Hawaii women's hoops coach (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Hawaii has hired former point guard Dana Takahara-Dias to be its women's basketball coach. She succeeds Jim Bolla, who was fired in April and has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit. Athletics director Jim Donovan made the announcement Thursday. Takahara-Dias played for the Rainbow Wahine in the 1980s and served as an administrative assistant under former coach Vince Goo.
