Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer knows better than most that there is no such thing as a sure thing. Ten years ago, her Cardinal became the first No. 1 seed to lose to a No. 16 seed in the NCAA tournament. So VanDerveer is certainly not about to conceded the national championship to unbeaten and top-ranked Connecticut.
