Reynolds' late hoop helps 'Nova to 12-1 (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Scottie Reynolds hit a jumper in the lane with 18.1 seconds left for the lead, and No. 8 Villanova held on to beat Marquette 74-72 in its Big East opener Saturday. Reynolds scored 23 points, including 16 in the second half, and Maalik Wayns added 16 points off the bench for the Wildcats (12-1, 1-0 Big East).
