No. 11 LSU beats No. 15 Xavier 56-47 (AP) (sports.yahoo.com)

Allison Hightower scored 18 points and had a career-high six steals Wednesday night, leading No. 11 Louisiana State to a 56-47 victory over 15th-ranked Xavier for coach Van Chancellor's 500th victory. LSU (11-1) forced Xavier to turn it over 11 times while building a 35-25 halftime lead. It was the lowest-scoring half of the season for Xavier (9-3) to that point.
