Samardo Samuels had 16 points and Preston Knowles and Edgar Sosa added 11 points each as No. 16 Louisville surged past Appalachian State 80-53 on Monday night. Freshman Rakeem Buckles added six points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals (4-0), who won their third game in three days by wearing down the Mountaineers in the second half.
