Central's JaRon Terry was also dominant Saturday. The Bearcats' senior won three individual events in Class A, taking the high jump, long jump and the 100.
Terry won the long jump by a margin of almost six inches. The high jump competition ended after his jump of 6-foot-1 outdid the other competitors' best marks. His closest call came in the 100, where three other runners finished within .08 seconds. Terry ran the race in 11.44 seconds, while teammate Brendon Barnes took second at 11.46. Delta's Mason Bechdolt finished third at 11.49, and Kokomo's Tony Moses finished fourth with a time of 11.52 seconds.

Terry said he noticed a surging Bechdolt late in the race. The result wasn't known immediately after the race due to the close margin.
"That last step, I knew it was real close, but I think I got (Bechdolt) barely by leaning forward," Terry said. "It was just good competition. I think that drives each runner to their max potential."
